I figured I’d post an update of all the things that have been going on lately. After all, what’s the point of having a website if there’s never any new content on it?

I’ve recently sent submissions or requests to perform a the Cathedral Village Arts Fest, as I mentioned before. I’ve also sent a submission/request to the Regina Folk Festival and the Symphony Under The Sky outdoor concert. Aside from these festivals (which I hope we can get into); I hope to put together a tight press kit that can be used universally to let prospective promoters etc. know what the group is about. I don’t know if there will be a lot of opportunities to play around town, but you never know. People will definitely dig what we’ve got going on.

In case you’re wondering, the players currently on board for this include:

Mandy McArthur (euphonium, vocals) – She’s an elementary band teacher, a great player, and a lovely singer. Nice to have her warm sound in the group.
Rob D (bass guitar) – Plays with tons of groups in Regina. I’m surprised he could fit this project into his schedule and glad to have him on board. Deadly player.
Zach Appleton (piano, vocals) – Another great player. Easily chews up any style that gets dished out to him. Plays locally, big into pop styles, drawing from influences like Billy Joel and Ben Folds.
Jen Yim-Rodier (percussion, vocals) – Yet another heavy-duty player, also a teacher, and another surprisingly good vocalist. She’s handling pitched and un-pitched percussion in a way only a pro can.

I’m working on some local string players I know, and hope to have them confirmed soon. Stay tuned to this site, as I post updates. Hopefully some new sample recordings to come soon, as well.
